About this design

本グッズは、19世紀に活躍した日本の絵師「歌川国芳（うたがわ くによし）」が残した錦絵「金魚づくし」を元に制作しています。
この錦絵は、金魚や様々な生物が擬人化され、愛らしい姿が生き生きと描かれた「金魚づくし」シリーズの一つ、「まとい」です。
江戸の町の人気者、町火消しが火事場に急行する様を描いた作品です。まといを持つ者は、火消し組の中のエースで最も体力、威勢の良い者が任命されました。
