About this design

江戸時代、肥後の海に突然現れたとされる妖怪アマビエ。
「もし疫病が流行したら私の姿を描いた絵を人々に見せよ」と言い残してその姿を消したと言います。
このアマビエを、祈りを込めて絵馬にしました。
新型コロナウイルスが猛威を奮う今、神頼みでもいいからという思いで作りました。

Youkai appeared from the sea during the Edo period.
The name of the youkai is AMABIE.
"Show people a picture of me as the plague spreads"
After saying that, the youkai has disappeared.
Show AMABIE to many people as Covid infection spreads.
What is depicted here is an ema.
Ema is a tool for Japanese people to pray to God.
