それぞれのキャラの特徴や性格などを参考にピッタリの犬種をあててみました。
仁：親兵衛…トイプードル…小さいけれど賢くて可愛い。
義：荘助…パグ…不幸な生い立ちの荘助なので、辛抱強い小型犬のパグ。プライドも高く、意志も強い。
礼：大角…ラブラドール…虐待されて育ってきてるので、辛抱強さ№1の犬種で。
智：毛野…ボーダーコリー…最も賢くて芸達者。毛並みもキレイ。
忠：道節…甲斐犬…忠誠心が強い。プライドが高くケンカっぱやい。いいとこの坊ちゃんなので、希少な日本犬をチョイス。
信：現八…シェパード…獄舎番だったので警察犬を。頭がいいし、しゅっとしているのもピッタリ。
孝：信乃…柴犬…忠誠心・意思・我の高さ、ちょっとおとぼけな面、主人公らしい犬種といえば柴しかいない。
悌：小文吾…グレートピレネーズ…とても温和な大型犬だけどうっかり人も○せる力のある犬種。
