About this design

文化資源と聞くと、ガラス越しに眺める遠い存在というイメ ージがありました。
正しく背景を理解し、然るべき場所で 実物の質量を味わう経験はとても大事です。
しかし、忘れ去られないために日常に溶け込むことも、文化の継承にとって大事なことなのかもしれない、
そんな想いで今回の制作に取り組みました。

グラフィックに使わせていただいた「木喰五行坐像」は、 浜松市が所有する実物の史料を3D 撮影したデータをお借りしました。
そのモデルを「Unreal Engine」「Houdini」といったゲーム開発や映像制作に用いられるソフトに取込み、 グラフィックを作っています。

塗像のモデルとなった「木喰五行上人」は、日本中の人々のために60歳過ぎから作仏を始め、 90歳までに1000体の仏像を掘ったという話があり、身を削って行脚・作仏を行った、彼のエネルギーや力強さを想像してビジュアルに落とし込みました。

今とはまるで違う、かっての時代の人々や日常に思いを馳せるきっかけとして、このグラフィックを見て頂けたら嬉しいです。
