福岡県八女市福島の伝統的建造物群保存地区には、タイムスリップしたような感覚になれる白壁通りがあります。
この街並みは、博多華丸さん主演の映画「めんたいぴりり」の博多山笠シーンが撮影された場所でもあります。
私も大好きな場所で、コロナ感染拡大前には、その通りを中心として様々なお祭りが開かれ、たくさんの方が訪れていました。
この街並みに、古民家を生かしたホテルや飲食店、その他、こだわりショップも少しずつ増え、宝探し感覚で散策するのも楽しいです。
近くには、200年以上の歴史を持つ、日本酒や焼酎の蔵元「喜多屋」さん、伝統的な灯篭人形が有名な「福島八幡宮」もあります。
一方で、伝統的建造物群保存地区ということで、建物の修復ができる人材を探すのも苦労があり、また、維持できる費用を捻出することの難しさに悩まれる持ち主さまのお話もお聞きしてきました。
そこで、大好きなこの町のためになるなら、微力でも何かできることをしたいと思い、こちらの商品を作ることにしました。
