The Latin phrase translates to "pluck the day. It appears in a poem by Horatius, a Roman poet of the first century B.C. and means "seize the day," "enjoy the moment," and "use the moment carefully. In English, it means "seize the day.

ラテン語で「その日を摘め」と訳される。紀元前1世紀の古代ローマの詩人ホラティウスの詩に登場する語句で「今日という日の花を摘め」、「今この瞬間を楽しめ」、「今という時を大切に使え」を意味する。英語では「seize the day」（その日をつかめ/この日をつかめ）。
