海の生き物シリーズ第四弾は、メンダコさんです。深海生物のアイドル「めんだこ」を描いてみたかったので作りました。
メンダコは、英語でいくつも呼び名があります。
こちらは、その中の一つで“umbrella octopus”をプリントしたバージョンです。”umbrella”は「傘？なので、直訳すると「傘タコ」になります。
他にも
Flapjack Octopus(パンケーキタコ)
adorabilis(可愛らしいという意味のラテン語)
などの呼び名があるそうです。
ちなみに、学名はOpisthoteuthis californianaです。
メンダコは、ディズニーのキャラクターにもなっていて海外でも子供に人気のようで、韓国や英語圏にもキャラクターグッズがあります。
ということで、日本語、韓国語、英語バージョンを作成しました。
