About this design

元来、家族とは小さな社会である。しかしその社会にペットは含まれない。ペットとは、その人間の家族社会に寄生する存在に過ぎない。むしろ、ペットにはペットとしての社会が存在する。飼育者とペットとではそれぞれ別の社会に属しているのだ。ただ、社会ではありつつもやはり飼育者に寄生する存在であることに間違いはない。飼育者の境遇は完全にペットにも同じように影響され、飼育者の境遇によってはペットが残虐な結果を迎えてしまうこともある。逆も然りで、ペットが繁殖し、社会を拡大していくことで、その重圧により飼育者側の社会が潰されてしまう、それが多頭飼育崩壊だ。ただ、この多頭飼育崩壊だが、元を辿れば全て飼育者に責任がある。「飼育」とは、人間の人間による人間のためのエゴによって完成される動物と人間の関係である。動物に決定する意思などあるわけがなく、ただ人間社会の波に流されるだけ。しかしそんな利己主義的な行動は、批判されるべき行為ではない。現代社会において、都市の発展に伴い動物は随分と住みにくくなった。これもまたエゴだ。そんなエゴから動物を守るためにエゴを振りかざすその姿勢は、皮肉だが非難すべきではない。ただ、それは共にエゴを背負う責任がついてくることを忘れてはならない。その責任は重い。家族が一人増えたなんてものじゃない。社会が一つ増えたのだ。君は、君の小ささな社会と共に、もう一つの小さな社会を担ったということだ。いわば多頭飼育崩壊とは、その責任を佚れ、序の失われた「佚序」の状態であると言える。
