About this design
機関車トーマスでご覧になった方も多いと思いますが、上から見ると扇子の形になっている汽車の車庫を、扇形車庫と呼びます。かつては日本各地にあった物ですが、現在残っている扇形車庫は１０軒前後です。中でも京都の鉄道博物館、津山まなびの鉄道館、豊後森機関庫などが有名かなと思います。
