この商品は、ネットオークションで購入した古い鉄道写真を、補正・加工して使用しております。
写真の三重連の先頭、D51型1号機は1936年(昭和11年)に兵庫県の川崎車両にて製造されました。 巨人の長嶋茂雄さんと同い年ですね。(笑)現在は京都の梅小路鉄道博物館に、展示保存されているそうです。
D51形蒸気機関車は、日本国有鉄道の前身である鉄道省が設計製造した、単式2気筒で過熱式のテンダー式蒸気機関車です。戦前戦後にかけて国内のみならず、台湾やサハリン(ソ連)でも活躍し、製造総数は1,184両に及びます。日本工業の発展や戦後の復興を支えた、影の主役と言ってもいいのではないでしょうか。(#^.^#)
