About this design

本グッズは、19世紀に活躍した日本の絵師「歌川国芳（うたがわくによし）」が残した錦絵「金魚づくし」を元に制作しています。
この錦絵は、金魚や様々な生物が擬人化され、愛らしい姿が生き生きと描かれた「金魚づくし」シリーズの一つ、「ぼんぼん」です。
江戸時代、お盆の夜に子供たちは、横並びに手をつなぎ、ぼんぼん唄を唄いながら町を練り歩きました。金魚や蛙たちもぼんぼん唄を唄いながら暑い夏を楽しく過ごす様子が描かれています。
本作は「金魚づくし」の中で最後に見つかった9作目の作品で、「金魚づくし」は二枚一組で制作されたと考えられているため、どこかに10作目が存在することが期待されています。
