神道の大祓詞において罪や穢れを祓い清めてくださる神として登場する瀬織津姫命。
祓いの神、水の神、滝の神、川の神、海の神などといわれます。
しかし古事記や日本書紀にはいっさい登場せず、封印された女神とも噂される謎多き女神様です。
岩手県花巻市を流れる稗貫川のたもとに瀬織津姫像が立っております。その像の周辺(1km〜2kmくらいでしょうか)の川だけ無数の渦を巻くように凍っていた光景を見たとき、私には瀬織津姫が沢山の龍の赤ちゃんを育んでいる様に見えたんです。
その氷の渦から産まれた龍の子どもと瀬織津姫が楽しそうに遊んでいる姿を描いてみました。
女神の封印は無数の龍と共にもうすでにとけているかもしれません(*´꒳`*)
