写楽（生没年不詳）は，寛政6年5月からわずか10ヶ月ばかり活躍して姿を消した謎の絵師。

脂粉を通り越して，役者の素顔にまで迫ろうとした似顔絵で有名。

「三世大谷鬼次の奴江戸兵衛」は写楽作品として特に有名で人気がある。

河原崎座の「恋女房染分手綱」（こいにょうぼうそめわけたずな）に取材したもの。敵役に挑みかかるような仕草と，憎々しげな表情が素晴らしい。

無理にも引き歪められて一文字に結ばれた口、角形の紅隈で限られた二つの陰惨な眼、パッと広げた両手の表情には、見る人を引き込む迫力がある。

悪方の一瞬が、これほど緊迫感をもって描かれている絵は滅多にない。

寛政6年(1794年)5月河原崎座で上演された演目「恋女房染分手綱(こいにょうぼうそめわけたづな）」の中で三世大谷鬼次が演じた「江戸兵衛」を描いた作品である。

WARNING
- The print process is not permanent, and may peel off or the color and texture may change due to friction when worn or washed. Please handle with care when using.

- In order to prevent the water repellent effect from diminishing and the printed parts from wearing out or peeling off, please do not use a washing machine, but gently hand wash.

- Please adjust the shape and place it on the hanger when the item arrives or keep it. Leaving it for a long time causes wrinkles to become difficult to remove.
