About this design

東北地方最大の古墳。
東北地方第2位の古墳サイズが120m位なので、圧倒的にぶっちぎりの東北最強前方後円墳であり、築造当時(4世紀末頃)は東日本でも最大級の古墳であったようだ。

雷神山という名は前方部山頂に雷神を祀る祠がある事に由来する。

また前方突端は削平を受けて墓地化している所も萌えポイント。雷神を祀ったり墓地化したり、なかなか攻めまくっている古墳である。

攻めまくっているにも関わらず、全体の造形は非常にバランスが取れて美しい所も最高である。
