About this design

※「花嫁のれん」とは、幕末明治のころより、旧加賀藩の能登・加賀・越中に根づいた独自の民衆に受け継がれる風習である。
　花嫁は加賀友禅で描かれた吉祥模様の美しいのれんを婚家に持参し、花婿の家の仏間の入り口に掛ける。両家の挨拶を交わした後、花嫁のれんをくぐり、先祖の仏前に「これからよろしくお願いします」とお参りしてから結婚式が始まるのである。　
　花嫁のれんの持つ美しさと背景にある物語は、
その1枚の友禅画に込められた嫁ぐ娘を送る親の思い、嫁ぐの日の華やぎ、
そして花嫁のれんに込められた女の覚悟が感じられる。
　また、嫁ぐ実家の家紋が入るのも興味深い。
実家の紋をくぐり、嫁ぎ先の仏間参りへと進む結界ともいえるのである。
