天燈鬼は日本では古くから絵巻などに残されているトノサマガエルになっています
龍燈鬼はヘビを体に巻いている仏像なので、ヒキガエルの天敵ヤマカガシをセットで描いています
天燈鬼は頭に灯篭を載せた龍燈鬼と違い、左肩に灯篭を担いで大きく口を開けたデザインになっています
