About this design

島田清次郎による大正時代の大ベストセラー小説『地上』の第一部である『地に潜むもの』が昭和五年二月十五日発行の『現代長篇小説全集24　島田清次郎・江馬修篇』（新潮社）に収録された際、画家・水島爾保布により描き下ろされた芸妓・冬子の彩色画。切ない運命に翻弄された冬子の哀愁漂う美しき画を、『地上』刊行から百周年を迎える令和元年六月、百周年記念グッズとして発売。これらのグッズを傍に、百年前に思いを馳せてみてはいかがでしょうか。
