About this design

浮世絵師の歌川広重の代表作「名所江戸百景」は四季折々の江戸の美しさをモチーフにした連作浮世絵名所絵である。「佐賀にも素晴らしかとこいっぱいあるガタァ」とガタゴロウが佐賀の良かとこを描きまくる連作シリーズが“名所佐賀百景”。
　第１弾はやはりガタゴロウの住処の有明海。ラムサール条約湿地にも登録された「東よか干潟」は多くの絶滅危惧種含む生き物が生息する美しい干潟である。また秋になると赤く紅葉するシチメンソウもの群落も有名で、この作品にも描かれている。干潟から昇る朝日が大好きなガタゴロウの気持ちが伝わってくる作品である。
