About this design

・ジュゴン
太平洋とインド洋の熱帯から亜熱帯の浅い海域に生息する、
人魚のモデルになった生物。
食用での捕獲や、漁業の網に絡まる事故などで数が減っている。
かつては沖縄付近の海でも見られたが、現在その数はほんのわずかである。
日本では唯一、三重県の鳥羽水族館でメスのジュゴンが飼育されている。
