白かったり黒かったり色々な模様のアホウドリが並んでいますが、うち4羽は「アホウドリ」の若鳥から成鳥。大人になるにつれ、白い部分が増えていきます。
他2羽は「クロアシアホウドリ」と「コアホウドリ」です。

【アホウドリについて】
羽毛利用の為、大量に捕殺され絶滅まで追い詰められた過去があります。
飛び立つまでに助走が必要なので人間に容易に捕まってしまうことから「アホウドリ」と呼ばれることに。
不名誉な名前ですが、「沖の大夫（オキノタユウ）」という別名があり、英語では「albatross」呼ばれます。
陸ではのんびりとした動きですが、海では別。
とても…とても格好良いのです……
広げた翼の長さは2mを超え、羽ばたくことなく海の上を飛び続けることができます。
