About this design

佐渡島は、本土から見たら、さらには都心から見たら、その道程を楽しめる距離にある離島です。佐渡島で生まれ育った人も、佐渡島が好きな人も、初めて訪れる人にも開けている島です。佐渡島の方言、佐渡弁に「旅んもん」という島外からきた人を表す言葉があります。私は、これを単によそ者という意味ではなく、「喜ばしい人」と捉えてきたのではないかと思います。それは、佐渡島に流されながらも、能文化を大成した世阿弥の精神を引く、能舞台が島内隈なくあることからも明白なことです。つまり、島を訪れ、触れ合う時間は、お互いにとっていい時間なのです。そんな佐渡島に大きく、旅行、旅、帰省と名を打たなくても、気軽に行くスタンスが大事なのではないかと思います。体が佐渡島に流れる時間を欲したら、サクッと佐渡島に足を進める。それが豊かさということではないでしょうか。人生というとおおごとですが、毎日、一日一日過ごしていると、いいことも、悪いこともあります。それは世界中どこでもそうですが、気候が人が育んできた佐渡島の自然と人の営みは、訪れる度に癒しを与えてくれるでしょう。何事も「Happy」が一番大事です。晴れに喜び、嵐に耐える。そうして磨かれた自然と人が、また次の来島の折にも、あなたを包み込んでくれることでしょう。そう願いを込めて。
