『スカラベ』
日本では、『フンコロガシ』『糞虫』の名で、お馴染みの生き物です。
古代エジプトでは太陽神ケプリとして登場したり、幸運のアイテムになったり神聖な昆虫でもあります。
現代では、各地の牧場で働き者として可愛がられている種類の多い甲虫です。
日中は太陽を、夜間は星を目印に行動している、賢い彼らをモチーフにしました。
そのフォルムたるや、個人的にはカブトムシ級のカッコよさだと思います。
