野村 みさきは、静かな湖畔の小さな村「霧水村」に住む17歳の少女。彼女の特徴は、透明感のある青紫色の瞳と、夜空を思わせる深い青のロングヘア。霧水村には古くから「星の神殿」が存在し、村の伝説によれば、選ばれし者だけが神殿の中に入ることが許されると言われている。
みさきはある日、星の神殿の扉が自分の前で開いたことから、選ばれし者であることを知る。神殿の中で、彼女は失われた記憶と、宇宙の秘密を守る使命を持つ守護者「スターガーディアン」であることを思い出す。
日常では控えめで優しい性格のみさきだが、スターガーディアンとしての彼女は勇敢で強い。星の魔法を使いこなし、村を脅かす闇の力と戦う。彼女の冒険が、霧水村の運命を変えることとなる。
