About this design

晩春から初夏に、繊細な細い葉をつけて長く伸びた茎先に、切れ込みのある鮮黄色の花弁の基部に濃赤色の蛇の目模様のある花が咲きます。

４月１３日の誕生花は、星のように輝く黄金色の蛇の目模様が魅力的なコレオプシスの一年草タイプ、ハルシャギク（春車菊）。

ハルシャギクは明治初期に渡来した帰化植物で、今は野生化して道路わきや堤防などで群生していることがあります。

道路際で群生しているものをスケッチしました。

別名のジャノメソウ（蛇目草）は、蛇の目模様の花からつけられています。
