About this design

北海道の名付け親「松浦武四郎」は松阪市に生まれ1818年（文政元）～1888年（明治21年）幕末から明治維新にかけて活躍した探検家・地理学者・画家・博物学者・作家として数多くの顔を持つ彼は、明治政府において、先住民であるアイヌの人々の文化を尊重し、北海道の道名、国名（支庁名）、郡名の選定に力を尽くします。
政府の命を受け、北海道の名前に６っの候補を挙げ、海島道・東北道・日高見道・海北道・千島道・北加伊道となった。その中で北加伊道と決まり現在の北海道になる。カイは、アイヌ語で、「この国に生まれたもの」と天塩日誌に書いております。
ペンネームは馬角斎（バカクサイ）と北海道弁をペンネームに北海道をこよなく愛した。
北加伊道から北海道へ変更になるも名付け親の武四郎は歓喜に満ちたに違いありませんその時の感動を商品にします。
