徳川慶喜（とくがわ よしのぶ、1837年10月28日 - 1913年11月22日）は、日本の徳川幕府の第15代、最後の将軍である。幕府の改革を目指した運動の一翼を担ったが、結局は失敗に終わった。1867年に将軍の座を退いたが、政治的な影響力を維持することを目指した。1868年、鳥羽・伏見の戦いで敗れた後は隠居し、ほとんど表舞台に出ることはなかった。
徳川慶喜は、水戸藩主徳川斉昭の七男として江戸に生まれた。水戸は御三家と呼ばれる徳川家の分家の一つで、将軍に選ばれる資格がある家である。母、有栖川宮嘉子内親王は、仁孝天皇の三親等であった。七郎麻呂は、厳格なスパルタ教育で育てられた。父・斉昭は、水戸2代目の徳川光圀が長男以降の子をすべて水戸に預けて育てたことにならった。七郎麻呂は1838年、生後7カ月で水戸に到着した。文武両道の教育を受け、弘道館で政治・行政の原理をしっかり学んだ。
