能　土蜘蛛／土蜘／つちぐも　〈小書・ささがに〉

土蜘蛛は、かねてより恨みのある武人・源頼光（みなもとのらいこう）が病で弱っているところに攻撃をしかけます。しかし失敗し、逆に斬りつけられてしまいました。
頼光の家から逃げた土蜘蛛の血のあとをたどって、追跡した臣下・ひとり武者たちは、葛城山に到着。土蜘蛛は家である塚を探し当てられてしまい、蜘蛛の糸を投げかけて戦いますが、とうとう倒されてしまいます。

古代神話では、歴史の表舞台から排除されたまつろわぬ人々のことをツチグモと呼んだようです。
能の「土蜘蛛」を見れば見るほどかわいそうなので、ここでは土蜘蛛が楽しく暮らす塚のようすをご覧ください!!

ささがにの小書（こがき＝特殊演出）では、間狂言（あいきょうげん、前場と後場の間で狂言方が担当する）で「ちちゅう（蜘蛛）」という言葉に反応した２匹の蟹（かにのこともちちゅうと呼んだ）が登場。絵の右上の２人が蟹です。チョッキンチョッキンチョッキチョキ!! のセリフで横歩き、手は親指と人差し指を構えたハサミスタイルです。
