About this design

シャーロックホームズの「バスカヴィル家の犬」のフォントにまつわる設定から着想した犬のTシャツです。

「バスカヴィル家の犬」は新聞脅迫状のはしりとして有名です。
この新聞「タイムズ」は専用フォント「Times」「Times New Roman」として現在は広く使われていますが、「Times」「Times New Roman」が作られる前に候補に、使用するフォント候補に「バスカヴィル」も上がっていたそうです。
さらにフォントサイズにも呼び名があってお話の設定では「ブルジョワ」(今だと9pt)だそうです。
こんな細かいフォントについての知識もしっかり持ち合わせていたコナン・ドイルには驚きです!
