「御城下絵図」（大分市歴史資料館所蔵・大分市指定有形文化財）は、大給松平氏が府内藩主であった江戸時代中期の府内城下の様子を描いた絵巻物です。「浜の市」の見物に行く藩主の行列を中心に、四重の天守がそびえる府内城、塩九升口・堀川口と呼ばれた城下への出入り口、住吉社・春日社などの神社仏閣、蓬莱山・笠結島など府内近郊の景観が約30メートルにわたり描かれています。
この中に描かれた王子神社は延久５年（1073）に創建されました。付近の駄原村には多くの鋳物師が居住しており、境内には寛政８年（1796）に第６代府内藩主・松平近儔が寄進した鋳物の鳥居が今も残されています。
