About this design

当店人気の着物ぺんぎん、久しぶりの新作はついにペンギン界の大スター・エンペラーペンギン(コウテイペンギン)の成鳥が登場です！
青紫のあやめが華やかに咲く着物に、藤の花柄の羽織を纏う姿はエンペラーペンギンの優しく懐の深い性格と藤の花言葉「歓迎」を重ねています。
身長は約120cmと小学生の子どもくらいの大きさで、その大きな体で南極の雪と氷の大地に凛と立つ姿はまさに皇帝の名に相応しい美しさと風格。キングペンギンはよくエンペラーペンギンに間違えられる事も多いのですが、エンペラーペンギンはキングペンギンに比べてくちばしが短めで、頬のイヤーパッチはしずく型でレモンイエロー、胸のグラデーションもクリームイエロー～レモンイエローとキングに比べると淡い色合いが特徴です。体の羽毛は顔と同じ黒。足首まで白い羽毛に覆われているのは南極大陸の寒さから体温を守るため。
日本では現在アドベンチャーワールドと名古屋港水族館の2か所でしか飼育されておらず、エンペラーとキングを同時に観られるのはアドベンチャーワールドのみです。
ヒナの愛らしさは宇宙一と言っても過言ではない。もふもふが抜けた亜成鳥も体が大きくなってもどこかあどけなさが残るかわいさです。
同じ南極周辺に住むアデリーやヒゲちゃんがケンカしててもつっつかれても怒らずのんびりしてむしろ「お話ならいくらでも聞くよ？」と受け止めてあげてるようにも見える。でっかわいい。
