About this design

ドット絵ペンギン「16bitシリーズ」の新入りさんは、ペンギン全種の中でも大所帯のユーディプテス属(マカロニペンギン属)！
かっこいい金色の飾り羽のユーディプテス属は現在の分類だと全7種なので上3羽と下4羽で配列しました。
16×16ドット絵なのでもちろん「ピコピコしてるユーディプテス属」略して「ピコユーディプテス」です。
イワトビペンギンが一番この中ではメジャーですが、ユーディプテス属は「マカロニペンギン属」なのでマカロニペンギンがセンターになるように配置しています。
上3羽は日本で現在飼育されている種類、下4羽は野生のみでの生息の種類で並べています。
イワトビペンギンもミナミイワトビ(飾り羽短め)とキタイワトビ(飾り羽ボリューミー)がいるので、マカロニをイワトビたちで囲む配置に。
下4羽は左からロイヤル→シュレーター→スネアーズ→フィヨルドランドの順です。この4羽の繁殖地の島々は保護のために人間の立ち入りが厳しく制限されているため、会えたら超絶ラッキー、動いている映像を見られたら超ラッキーです！
(ちなみにシュレーターは2000年まで約28年、漁船に迷い込んだとみられる個体が保護されて北海道のノシャップ寒流水族館で飼育されていた、世界で唯一の飼育事例が日本にあります)
7種それぞれ飾り羽の形に違いがあったり、特徴的な模様や色、くちばしなどがあるので、それらの特徴や違いを #忍者スリスリくんワクワクおえかきランドで16×16ドットの中で可能な限り再現してみました。
