雪国の疫病除け「西和賀の厄払い人形」

奥羽山脈に囲まれた豪雪地である岩手県西和賀町。毎年1月に開かれる行事「人形送り」では、侍姿のワラ人形を地域の境の木に結びつけ、外から疫病が入るのを防ぎ1年の無病息災を祈ります。
西和賀の人形送りは200年以上前から行われており、江戸時代の昔から人々が祈りながら協力し疫病という逆境を乗り越えてきたことがわかります。
この厄払い人形のイラストは行事の疫病除けにちなみ、新型コロナ（COVID-19）に対する願いを込めて製作しました。
みんなで思いをひとつに、このコロナ禍を乗り越えましょう。
